I'll definitely be in. Are you looking to start Weds, Sept. 30? Do you want this just to be the Ginetta GT5, or will you open it up to DLC cars as well? I think there's now a Ford Capri GT5 also. Personally, I'd say keep it Ginetta only, but totally up to you.
Remember there are still problems with game chat causing crashes over 8 people in a lobby, Live Party chat is still limited to 8 people total. If you get more than 8 people involved in this, think about using skype for the voice chat. I have no problem hosting it as I have been for my GT3 series, or I can help get you set up with account names for everyone else who's interested. If you host, you will need a PC nearby your xbox, 2 skype accounts, and a decent internet connection to host however many people you have. All of the calls/chat invites need to go out from your PC, including to your own xbox account. Skype on Xbox only allows you to chat with up to 4 people at once, video or voice only. By having a PC send the invites you can have as many people as you like in one call. I'm not sure if there's a limit, but I know 32 people can work at once. That's why you need the PC to host, and if you play with headphones on your xbox, you will need the second skype account on the xbox. If you play with open speakers, then you can skip using skype on the xbox and just wear pc headphones/mic and skype with that while playing on the xbox.

OK guys. I'll start drafting up a schedule and getting the entrant list going. Keep posting here if interested.
On a separate note, I tried practicing the other day and sadly the two times i tried to do a solo gt5 practice session I'd crash to desktop immediately after exiting the pits. This game is still so unpolished. I just bought a house and I'm finding it very hard to justify the $600 I spent on a wheel, the game and the console right now...

Check your other classes. The crash to dashboard as soon as you take control of a car exiting the pits happened to me. It also carried over to race weekend and time trial. Game would load, but the second the game put control in my hands it would crash. This also happened on every car class I tested. End result was that I had to delete my save file and start over. At the very least, you are still able to open the game and get into your My Garage. This way you can go in and write down all the tunes you really care about. I know there are a ton of car/track combos, but this will save you lots of time in the future. Also, make sure you write down all your wheel, race, camera, etc. configuration settings.
After you do all that, you may as well uninstall the game and DLC, then delete local and cloud save data. Do a complete fresh reinstall and start from day 1. Game will run better and load faster for a good long while. I've been where you are now, 5 times I've deleted my save file... first time was with over 120 hours in career.

Wow--- Good thing I don't have a career file because I've never been able to get full grids with playable frame rates; or else I'd be pissed about losing my saves. Thanks for the insight. I actually did a clean install when 3.0 came out, but looks like I will do it again. -Tim

Yeah I don't know what triggers this pit-exit crash thing. It's certainly not related to closing the game improperly. When it happened to me, I was in a Live Party with Saul and Snelgrove, we all three exited a game session so I could walk them through some Spider wheel config settings, then when one of us created a new MP session and we all got in, that's when the problem started. After that I spent a good hour or more testing all different classes, tracks, and game modes and the game would crash every single time it handed control over to me. I believe this first happened the day before 3.0 released to the Xbox as I had the game uninstalled when 3.0 did finally become available over xbox live, and I reinstalled fresh within the hour that the patch was made public. At least I know it's not a 3.0-related issue.

FYI I'm done with this game. Clean install and it crashes yet again the first time I leave the pits. Do a hard reset and its the same problem. When it does work frame rates are inconsistent. Multiplayer is terrible, more than 10 AI is unplayable, its unstable.
I've invested $600 purely for this game, system and wheel. Devastated man. I might even trade in or sell my x1

Reinstall won't help that problem. You need to delete your local and cloud save file, but that will cost you all of your career progress, settings, and tune files. It's a known problem. Been there 5 times myself.

To be honest, the crash to desktop isn't the reason I'm done with the game, its just the straw that broke the camel's back. I really want to like this game but I'm just tired of the bugs.
In particular, i still cant race with playable framerates, the Multiplayer is a joke, pit stops are still messed up and sometimes the game just randomly speeds up and slows down depending on what part of the track youre on.
Instead of focusing on fixing the core gameplay components like frame rates and party chat, the devs have prioritized graphical glitches, track maps on loading screens and making sure you have a weather forecast in the pits.
I've never been so disappointed with a game. As much as I appreciate the devs openness on the pcars forums, I feel that they knowingly released an unplayable, broken game on Xbox one and I'm convinced that they cannot fix it to an acceptable standard. They had to release it before forza in order to cash in and as a crowd funded game they couldn't abandon the Xbox release anyway
The issue I have is that when it works, its a pretty awesome game, but the annoying workarounds and horrible game breaking bugs just annoy me too much.

The framerate issue and speedup/slow downs (apart form Shifter Karts and rumble strips) should be fixed with a hard reset. The pit exit crash has to be fixed by deleting your save file. Multiplayer does blow especially hard right now with Forza just out but that's why we have this group: to find people to play with. Only pit stop bug across all maps right now is the tire types when you leave your tune set on Auto. If you specify your tire type in tune, the pits will put on whatever you tell them to put on.
I definitely agree with the issues wearing down the players. I reinstalled Destiny last night for the first time since beginning of June when my first save file went bad and I did a factory reset on the xbox. Was totally lost, but it was something else to play. I'm pushing really hard on the PCars forum right now for SMS to address, or even acknowledge, the data corruption problem. I've called out Ian Bell for not posting at all on the Xbox forums for what will be 1 month tomorrow. If we don't get any response at all in the next week or two, I'm not sure how much longer I'll continue to play. My last hope for this game right now is this corruption problem; how can SMS expect players to continuously enjoy a game when there is a possibility every time you turn it on that you'll lose everything and start over from day one. I've done that 6 times now, only 1 of those intentionally.
I do enjoy this game, and Forza cannot replace the things I like most about it. The only thing I like about forza is the career money/car hardware improvement scheme which PCars totally lacks. IMO PCars does everything else better when it works. I wont even consider joining a multiplayer match in Forza. I did buy Forza used about a week ago, but then returned it since Career is the only thing I like and I'm not even willing to pay the used member price of 49.99 for just that at this time. I'll wait till the price drops into the 30's.

The framerate issue and speedup/slow downs (apart form Shifter Karts and rumble strips) should be fixed with a hard reset. This is probably the biggest issue for me. I've tried everything and the fact remains that if I don't have it on a single-player test session with clear weather I just can't seem to get it to work at a playable speed. It's either doing a weird thing where it speeds up and slows down sort (kind of like a time elastic) or it gets down to a somewhat playable but very annoying and headache-inducing fps level. I just can't take it anymore. I packed up my steering wheel and the little gaming setup I had and put it in my closet. Probably never to return.

Hey tremblax be patient before you scrap the game completely. All those issues you're having right now should be fixed with the Windows 10 update for Xbox One. I'm in the preview program so I got it early and I'm telling you all the framerate issues and moost of the game crashing issues have disappeared for me.

When is that actually do for full release? Any timeframe? I haven't read anything about it.
I've been spending a lot more time over the last 5+ days playing other things than PCars, and I have to say: it's a lot more fun playing the games without worrying about all the "what-ifs" and being crazy about how to shut it down and all that. Believe me I'm one of the biggest cheerleaders on PCars forum for making all those little things part of your normal routine to ensure the game works properly, but having a few days without thinking about them has impacted my perspective quite a bit. As I said above, we'll see if SMS ever decides to acknowledge the data loss issue. If they do, well and good even if they can't fix it for some time. If they continue on as they are now completely ignoring the issue and pretending it doesn't exist, I may be done with their studio a lot sooner than later.
