Saturday, September 12th 9pm EST/6pm PST. 28 laps at Road America. Qualifying will start PROMPTLY at 9pm. If you are late enough that you cannot join qual, you will not be joining the race either.
I will try to start filling the party at 8:50pm. At least once during the week before the race I will try to host a 2+ hour long practice session that is open to anyone to join and leave whenever they like.
Please reply below if you are sure to be there. If you participated in either of the previous races, then you must use the same car in this race that you did for the those, and must for all future races. If you have not raced with us in this series yet, then you may use any GT3 car besides the BMW M3.
Remember:
We will be using skype this weekend. MSG me in game or over the forums with your skype ID if you haven't done so yet. Once I have your Skype Id, you must accept the contact request that I will send to you so that everything is ready to pick up and go on Saturday.
Download Skype! We will not be using Live chat or Game chat.
This race will take place at night! Qualifying will start with game date set to Real Life date, and Time will be set to 1700hrs with 5x Time Progression.
Race rules:
Patch 3.0 is out and a lot of the B.S. that held up multiplayer racing other than simple sprint races has been fixed as far as I've been able to tell. Pitting works. Pit Strategies work. Penalties are now much more appropriate.
--There will be a mandatory minimum of one pit stop and tire change during this race. You may pit any time from the end of lap 1 till the second to last lap. So long as you don't finish your last lap in the pits, you're good to go. You may use any fuel strategy you choose, whether that's carrying max fuel and not filling any in the pits, or carrying half tank and refilling when you pit. Doesn't matter so long as you change at least one set of tires.
--Penalties will be back on. So far as I've been able to tell, cut track warnings that count towards disqualification only happen when you try to power your way through when going off the track. If you run off and slow yourself then come back to the track reasonably close to where you went off, I have not yet seen that count towards a Cut Track Warning. I don't know how that works in multiplayer though with the 5-10 seconds delays. If anyone has info on how that's changed, please share.
--Damage will be on Performance Impacting, and Mechanical Failures will be turned on. Nothing new here other than the fact that you can get away with a really closed down radiator this race. May have to watch temps during qualifying if you close your radiator enough.
So far we've had well over 20 people race with us at least once, and there are several people who've voiced interest in joining us as well. Remember, If you've raced with us before and you RSVP up until ~2 hours before race time, you will be guaranteed a spot. If you have not raced with us before, you will be guaranteed a spot if you RSVP in this thread unless a number of racers who've already joined us fill the available slots. Even if you have raced with us before, if you do not RSVP before the 2 hour window prior to race start and the race is full including new members, you will not be able to join this race. Please let me know as soon as possible if you will be for-sure joining us, and if you do need to back out after confirming your spot, please just let me know. Organization is getting to be a challenge with how many people have joined, and the more information people share with me, the easier it makes the task.
See you all Saturday!
