When and Where: The GT3 Series races every Saturday beginning at 9pm EST/6pm PST. First race will be July 25th, 2015. All drivers are expected to be ready for qualifying at this time. Qualifying will be 30 minutes. Please get your practice and tunes done prior to start time. Qualifying will start promptly at 9pm. There will be 10 races. Lowest 2 race results will be dropped from your point total to excuse missed races, game crashes, etc. A RSVP list will be made for each race.
Race Length: Number of laps will depend on the track, but assume number of laps to add up to 1 hour race.
Damage and Assists: Damage will be on "Performance Impacting". Assists will be set for "Real Life". Fuel Usage and Tire Wear will both be set to "Real". Rather than use increased tire wear, all drivers will be required to Pit and Change Tires a minimum of once per race. There is no way to force or verify that each driver does this. I just ask that all drivers be adult enough to do what is asked.
Restrictions: You may choose any GT3 race car except for the BMW M3 due to the lack of tuning restrictions compared to all other GT3 cars. You will be expected to race the same car for the duration of the series.
Race Starts and A.I.: Standing starts. No A.I.
Time and Weather: Race date will be set to the real world date. Race time will be 11:00am, and weather will be set to constant "Light Cloud". One race to be determined will run at night. You will have notice of this several days in advance.
Penalties: Flags and Penalties will be turned on.
Race Schedule: July 25: Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans/Circuit de la Sarthe Aug. 1: Brno Aug. 8: Circuit de Spa Francorchamps Aug. 15: Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca Aug. 22: Bathurst Aug. 29: Dubai Autodrome GP Sept. 5: Labor Day Weekend. Will decide later if we are racing this weekend or not. Sept. 12: Road America Sept. 19: Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya GP Sept. 26: Nurburgring GP (Will need another host for this weekend, I will be out of town. Can postpone race if decided at later date.) Oct. 3: Nurgurgring Nordschleife (Damage will be visual only for this race. Possibly longer than 1hr.)
Scoring: 1st – 25 2nd – 20 3rd – 16 4th – 13 5th – 11 6th – 9 7th – 7 8th – 5 9th – 3 10th – 2 11th-16th --1
Tie Breaker – Races Won 2nd Tie Breaker – Most 2nd place finishes. 3rd Tie Breaker – Most 3rd place finishes.
Game Chat Workaround: Because Game Chat is broken at the moment, and Live Party Chat only allows 8 people maximum per group, I ask all participants to download and set up Skype for this series. I hope to have this working for everyone for the first race weekend! For all those interested in racing the GT3 Series. Install Skype on your xbox, and then either post here, PM me here, or message me in xbox with the email address/user name that you set up skype with. It is possible and does work to get as many as 16 people all in the same chat channel using this method.
Pitstop Tire Pressure Bug Workaround: There is a known bug that pitstops can still give flat/improperly inflated tires and wrong fuel levels. There is a workaround for this. Create your pit strategies in Free Practice or Race Weekend (may need race weekend to get the tire pressures right as Free Practice only offers up to 2.00bar, while Race Weekend offers up to 2.50bar). Create ALL of the pitstops you may need, including tires, different fuel levels, and repair-only, and save them there. Then when in a Career or Multiplayer race, as you enter the pits and the menu pops up, click View Saved >> highlight the strat you want to use >> Click Y to select that strat as Yes >> Click B to back out of list. DO NOT click A to open the strategy while you are in a career or multiplayer race. If you click A and are taken to the menu where you can adjust fuel levels and tire pressures, there is a very high probability that your pitstop will be bugged.

I have two other guys that did not get a message earlier today about times/availability and would still like to join. Can I point them here?

Hi Optical Herc, Can you add me to your league please? I race with beetz regularly and GT3 league sound like a lot of fun.

I will be posting a separate thread for each race with rec-specific details that will also serve as an RSVP list. For those who know they'll be on, please RSVP. I wasn't sure this morning, but now I'm hopeful that this series could have a full 16 man grid. Of course I will allow people to join at last minute even if they haven't RSVP'd, but those who do reserve a place will get priority until about 15 minutes after qual starts/15 minutes before race starts. If someone RSVPs and does not show up without notifying someone why, you will lose your placement priority for future races even if you do RSVP for those races.
Also: I didn't realize until after I posted the series details that you could not accelerate fuel usage, only Tire Wear. I had hoped to use Fuel to force pit stops instead of tires to make more stable racing while still creating the necessity to pit. I've thought about using Tire Wear of x2 or x3, but that's just a whole lot of hassle to plan your pits as well as for me to plan the wear for each race. Instead, we will use the honor system. Races will run on Real Fuel Usage and Real Tire Wear, but everyone is required to pit for tires at least once each race. There is no way for me to force pits, and no way for me or anyone else to verify that you did pit and change tires, but I'm sure we're all adult enough to actually do it once per race if asked.

Can Skype work without the Kinect sensor? Otherwise I won't be able to use that just a headsup because I got my Xbox without the Kinect.

What about having a start limiter on the fuel? Put in the rules you have to start the race with between 20-30L. I know some cars are better on fuel but this would make everyone pit and have to pit at diff laps during the race. I think this would work in theory but would need to do some testing.

9PM Eastern/6pm Pacific
@aghastvenus: I don't know. I'll be figuring it out this week. I've read of other leagues using Skype instead of Live/Game chat, so I think it does work, just heard something about it requiring someone on a PC to control it, which I can also handle if need be. If it works, it works. If not, we'll either use game chat and deal with its failings, or Live chat and split into 2 groups to deal with it.
@beetesjuice: There's no way to force a fuel load at start or that would be a good workaround. As it is, every car in the class can carry max fuel enough for roughly 70 minutes of driving. Better to just allow people to start and run whatever loadout they want, and just require that everyone make a minimum of one pit stop and tire change. There's no way to verify or force a pit/tirechange, but I don't really see any better option beyond increasing tire wear, and that's something I really don't want to have to do. I don't think there's anyone wanting to be part of this series who's immature enough to ignore such a requirement just to spite everyone else. At least, I hope not.

I'm in. Not sure which car yet. I'll post that later this week. We've had house guests for the past few days, and I haven't been able to try Patch 2.0. Might get a couple hours in today. Supposedly, they're leaving me home for a few hours to get some writing done. Yeah...writing. *Wink, Wink*
I'm gonna have to figure the Skype thing out. Last time I tried to use the Xb1 app, I could get it to work.

I am really excited about this league, but I think I will be missing the first three races as we will be on holidays. So I will join the rest if that's okay. Not like I would be challenging for top spot anyway LOL

Not like I would be challenging for top spot anyway LOL That's no problem. Remember that the 2 lowest race results will be nullified from everyone's score anyway, so even if you race 7/10, you're only really missing 1 race's worth of points.

Drove the Bentley continental for the first time. Dissapointed. It's probably my driving style but I just think it feels terrible on every part of the track. Big, detached feeling from the wheel and tires.

Drove the Bentley continental for the first time. Dissapointed. It's probably my driving style but I just think it feels terrible on every part of the track. Big, detached feeling from the wheel and tires. It's a tank on tires. The Bentley and the Mercedes would both be pretty good for the first race, Spa, Bathurst, etc., but are just too cantankerous to handle on some of the tighter tracks like Brno, Dubai, and Laguna Seca. This is why I banned the BMW M3 from the series. Every other GT3 car has almost completely locked down gearing (as it is in real life), so you have to compensate with driving style for the different tracks out there, while the M3 could be geared specifically for each track to keep on top of the power curve at all times.
